rouse features women in the Toronto community who use art to make a difference in their communities or the world at large. It offers inspiration to women by focusing on those who are conquering the struggles of surviving in the artistic community. Not only are they surviving- they are also making a positive contribution through their passion for the arts. We have a long list of potential sources who are an example to their peers.
There are countless women of all ages who use art on a daily basis to create change. They are inspiring, and deserve to be recognized. Through our research, we noticed that there was a niche for a publication that focused on great women in the arts, and their contributions.
rouse strives to cover stories that touch upon the subjects of politics, health and social justice. rouse readers, who are typically aged 25-45, are interested in learning how art influences these topics. They finish an issue of rouse learning about so much more than just art itself; they also learn about how to use different types of art in powerful ways.
